Tim Hortons is this way?

A month ago today I breathed in the Himalayan air, a full moon turned night into a dreamy day and now inside, I watch 70’s rock and roll videos.  Sigh.

Tomorrow is most likely the last day of teaching, next week there will be a few days of review, a few days of tutoring those who need it and show up and then the exam itself followed by four weeks of shenanigans and long dry periods of emptiness.  In that time I’ll pack up, throw out, give away everything in the flat.  There isn’t much.

Deep Purple isn’t moving the studio audience at all.  Look, the women in front look like they entered the wrong door.  ‘I thought there was a handbag sale here’, no ma’am just a howling dude with long hair and screaming riffs.

On that social media site I posted a Saudi story about temps reaching 149/65 degrees and a brief chat about climate change ensued.  I continue to read the sixth extinction and more or less see extinction quite naturally though I understand we are pushing the accelerator.  Is humanity, the greatest invasive species ever the cause for catastrophic degrees of baking?  I don’t know.  But I hope the next place I live has shade.

Someone took a small brillo like pad and scratched the left side of my car.  What a joke this place is.  With the sun now in its summer position there is no shade on the west side of the building where I park.  If there is anything good about selling the car it is that the body and the roasted upholstery won’t reduce the value.  Cool, go ahead you hooligans, you wanna be terrorists, go ahead and key the car.  Bums.

I think the upset stomach and fatigue and last night’s brief eye piercing headache are heat related.  Everything is related to the heat here and why not, nothing is as oppressive as an unfiltered ball of fire which makes us all want to be somewhere else.  I got 39 days and 38 nights to go.  39/38.

It’s always flattering when someone says my itchy beard makes me look like George Clooney.  Now if I had his clothes and charisma and money, well, where would I be now.  Would I even spend so much time with the mysteries of faith and spirits if I were wealthy, sure, I’d go where there was natural silent beauty.  No need for Uriah Heep where I’m going, son.

Ten years ago the Canadian Armed Forces stationed in Kandahar had itself a Tim Hortons.  Really.  And is it there now?  Oh in my wildest dreams.  There is a lot I will have to learn to live without and there is a lot I will have to learn with, fruit is plenty, pomegranates are cheap and everywhere I’m reading.

Did ‘Another brick in the wall’ have any effects in education reforms in the UK?  What a great video, eh, students burning down the school, ok, it’s kind of scary now but did students rise up against the system when this came out?  I was a teenager at SL when it came out and food fights were popular in the cafeteria but that could have come from John Belushi a few years earlier.

Suzie Quatro, would she have been a bigger star if youtube was around then?  This is the first time I’ve seen her.  Of course with these lip sync videos they wouldn’t have won too many fans.  I gotta change the channel here.

When I hear ABBA I always think of Scandinavia.  I wonder if there’s an ABBA museum in Copenhagen.  What’s the latest on your summer plan between jobs, nothing really though I know the later I wait to book rooms the more they will be expensive, it’s just too early to book without knowing with certainty this is going to work out and I don’t know why it won’t but I feel compelled to wait. I tell you what I’ll do, I’ll book a room in Amsterdam a month in advance and if for reasons I don’t foresee things fall apart I’ll still go to the big A and after that, well, I’ll be in the heartland of Europe with all my belongings and enough money to go in any direction I want.  Oh Lord, the Bee Gees, didn't these boys go up in the big disco pyre in centerfield a while back?  Lord have mercy.
