and on this day

9.6.12

A walk down to Lakeside turned into an all-day stay until finally returning to the mountain with Maya after dark.  The new dining room will not be finished within the next three or four days and fears are Laxman will not trek with me.  I know he wants to but for me to wait to the end of the month, which is how long it will be to finish the room, is too late.  Heading to India in the third week of October leaves me quite eager to get going.

In Pokhara I picked up gloves, socks, a cheap pair of sunglasses for backup, trail food, and what else.  We ate lunch at the Thakali Banshaa, a Nepali restaurant with a very nice interior.  For the rest of this blog I refer to the photos, which I took many of on this day.

A nice day it ought to be

Along the banks of the lake this weed?  flower?  algae, grows abundantly.  Men in canoes push it away from the shore but its spread is relentless.

These buffalo eat well
